T <br /> February 17, 2004 <br /> The regular meeting of the Housing and Redevelopment Authority of Pequot Lakes was <br /> held on February 17, 2004 at Sibley Terrace. Commissioners present: Peterson,Teie, <br /> Youngberg,Nagel. Absent: Jurchen. Also present were Parkview tenants L. Grabow <br /> and B. Pearson, along with Director Thurlow and Assistant Walsh. <br /> Chair Peterson called the meeting to order. Minutes were reviewed and approved. <br /> M/Teie, S/Youngberg. M/carried. <br /> Bills were reviewed for payment: <br /> Sibley Terrace bills were approved for payment. M/Youngberg, S/Nagel. M/carried. <br /> Parkview bills were approved for payment. M/Teie, S/Youngberg. M/carried. <br /> Alpine bills were approved for payment. M/Nagel, S/Teie. M/carried. <br /> Agenda: Sibley Terrace <br /> 1. The Director reported on the new project. Title Insurance has been received. <br /> WSN has agreed to provide the HRA with simple floor plans and a large color <br /> pencil rendition of the building elevation, for marketing purposes, for the price of <br /> $1,000. The Director has authorized this. The Board reviewed the drawings. <br /> 2. Two bids for refuse hauling have been reviewed. The current hauler did not <br /> `.. submit a bid or contact the Authority regarding any changes in his prices. After <br /> review, the Board selected Waste Partners as the new refuse hauler beginning <br /> March 1. M/Teie, S/Youngberg. M/carried. <br /> 3. The Kiser property is on the agenda for Planning and Zoning, for a lot split, on <br /> Feb. 19. Construction on the new homes can then begin. <br /> 4. The Director reported on the need for a change in the flat rate for Public Housing. <br /> The flat rate rent is based on the HUD approved contract rents for one-bedroom <br /> units,which is now $356, with a utility cost of$34. This would bring the flat rate <br /> to $490 from the current amount of$470. M/Youngberg, S/Peterson to increase <br /> the flat rent to $490 beginning 4/1/04. M/carried. <br /> 5. The Director reported all tenants in Public Housing are being recertified,with an <br /> effective date of 4/1/04. <br /> Agenda: Parkview <br /> 1. The HOME Application is still pending at the state. They continue to ask for <br /> more documentation. An increase in contract rents will be allowed for Parkview I <br /> &H. <br /> 2. A tenant has been evicted from#102 Parkview II. She moved her belongings but <br /> ended up moving into her sister's apartment in the same building. Unless she is <br /> gone by the 18th, the Director will begin legal proceedings. Her deposit will not <br />
