Ice Fest—Dave Gravdahl - Ice Fest is this week-end with all the events going on. There <br /> `.. is an ice slide again this year. There also is Sno Golf, Human Bowling, Face Painting <br /> Horse Sleigh Rides, Karaoke Contest,Bon Fire,Fireworks, Ice Dance& Live <br /> Entertainment. The Radar Runs are always popular. The Second Annual World <br /> Championship Ice Auger Contest will be one of the favorite events again this year. Last <br /> year there were 3 categories and this year there are 6. Last year the winner drilled 3 holes <br /> in 11 %2 seconds. <br /> Antique Snowmobile Rendezvous&International Convention—January 23-25. <br /> Ryan—This was talked about in the secretary's report. It is another great event. They do <br /> need help announcing from 12-4, so if you can help with this contact Dave Guenther who <br /> can give you the particulars. 568-9252(school)or 543-4146 (home) <br /> Mardi Gras-Darlene Schaefer—She encouraged people to come in costume for the <br /> Gowns& Galoshes Ball on February 21". Of course you are welcome to come dressed <br /> any way you wish. If you would like to help please let Darlene know or call Chamber <br /> office. Tyrone Blue who is a popular entertainer will be doing the DJ/Light Show. <br /> Job Shadowing—Jim Oraskovich-He is very proud of Student Chamber. They are <br /> doing a great job. Elementary school is moving along. He is thankful that they didn't <br /> have to move at Christmas vacation. It would have been hard in that busy season. <br /> Ground Hog Job Shadowing day is February 2"d. If you are asked to let a student shadow <br /> you,please do that. <br /> Community Ed Events—Richard Mark—A meeting called"Speak Out"will be held at <br /> the family center on January 20 at 6:30 p.m. It is people from the Early Childhood <br /> Coalition talking about their experiences with young children. <br /> The suicide prevention meeting is Monday January 12,2004 at 6:00 p.m. at the PLHS <br /> Auditorium. Parents, friends, family, anyone who works with people is encouraged to <br /> attend. <br /> Mardi Gras—February 21 -This was covered in the retail committee report when <br /> Darlene encouraged us to attend in or out of costume. <br /> New Business: <br /> Fundraising—Monte Carlo Night—Ryan talked about the possibility of having a Monte <br /> Carlo night the end of March. We could possibly sell tickets for a meal and then give <br /> play money to the people attending. If anyone is interested in being on the committee, <br /> please let Ryan know. He is going to check with a club in Iowa where he knows the <br /> people who ran a fundraiser like this to see how they did it. <br /> Summer Celebration—We learned from last summer which events worked and which <br /> didn't. We are looking also for other fund raising ideas. <br /> County Road 11/Paved Shoulders—Lynn Scharenbroich—Duane Blanck from Crow <br /> Wing County Highway Department has gone to bat for us to get the shoulders paved <br /> 3 <br />
