As usual we began with
introductions.
Minutes of the November meeting were approved. M/Bernice Rohde, S/Doreen
Gallaway. There was no meeting in December, and the Christmas party was canceled
because of too many conflicts.
General bills were approved. M/Forbes Martinson, S-Jason Olsen.
We have a treasurer. Justin Bolz-Andolshek has volunteered to take the job,but was
unable to be here today. We are ahead of last year. Report upcoming next month.
Executive Secretary's Report—Breakfast with Santa on Dec. 6`h went well. Lots of kids
enjoyed visiting with Mr. and Mrs. Claus.
We have sold 350 fireman's calendars thru the Chamber. We have 50 left, so if you
know anyone who wants one, let them know that when they are sold, that's all. We have
also sold a fair number of playing cards for the Scenic Byway.
New lure books are out and sent to the first two of the sport shows.
The Christmas for Kids applications came thru the Chamber this year. The City isn't
involved in that any more. It seemed to go very well.
The Candle Light Vigil for Dru was attended by over 500 people on December 17`h. It
was a very nice service. The perpetual candle donated by the three Catholic Churches
(Pequot Lakes, Pine River and Nisswa)is burning in the Chamber Lobby. Father Zeck
told me to let him know when we need more candles. Kendall Candles donated 700
candles and more were also donated by Wal Mart. Several people have donated money,
which I bring to Lakes State Bank for the fund set up there.
Six people from the community are going to the Blandin Retreat the end of this
month.
The bills have gone out again and a few people have responded. I'll be calling the
remaining ones.
1
