Health Insurance Benefit for City Employees <br /> The Council discussed the $375 the city pays toward employee health insurance. <br /> The City Clerk noted that the money can now be used in the flexible spending <br /> plan and if it is not used in the plan it will be taxed. Council Member Ryan <br /> suggested that the flexible spending plan be expanded in the future to allow <br /> employees more options. <br /> 7.8. Update on Highway 371 Project <br /> The City Clerk noted that there were letters from residents in the Council packets <br /> regarding the Highway 371 project. <br /> 7.9. JOBZ <br /> The City Clerk noted that the following JOBZ zones were approved: the industrial <br /> park, the irrigation fields, Whalen Woods, and Babinski property. The properties <br /> not approved included Brunes Royce and the downtown development district. <br /> The Council discussed future improvements to the existing industrial park. <br /> Council Member Sjoblad suggested that the comprehensive plan be considered <br /> prior to making any improvements. <br /> It was the consensus of the Council to form a committee to work on the long- <br /> range plans for the industrial park. The following Council Members volunteered to <br /> serve on the committee: Council Member Sjoblad, Council Member Bolz- <br /> Andolshek, and Council Member Ryan. <br /> 7.10. Update on Sale of City Buildings <br /> The Clerk updated the Council on the appraisals that were received for the <br /> buildings the City intends to sell. Discussion was held regarding the method for <br /> selling the buildings. The Council suggested advertising in the Star Tribune, <br /> Brainerd Daily Dispatch and in the Echo. <br /> 7.11. Crow Wing County Comprehensive Plan <br /> The Clerk suggested that the Council pass comments and suggestions <br /> concerning the Crow Wing County Comprehensive Plan on to Chuck Marohn. <br /> She noted that Mr. Marohn will be attending the public hearing and will pass the <br /> City's comments on to the County. <br />
