PEQUOT LAKES FIRE DEPARTMENT MINUTES OF THE OCTOBER 5,2005 MEETING The regular meeting of the PLFD was called to order by Chief Nelson, 22 members were present. The minutes of the last meeting were read and approved by a motion by Rickard, second by K. Larson, motion passed. There are two firemen calendars here from the lady who baked the cookies for the Taste of Pequot. She would like us all to sign the calendars for her. Truck check reports were discussed. Engine 1 was OK. The new AED is located in the pump operator compartment on Engine 1. Engine 2 is missing 2 five to four storz adapters, a 2 '/2" by 1 1/2" reducer, and a section of 6" hard suction. The hard suction is on a tanker. The 1975 pump truck at Breezy has an extra set of jumper cables. Tanker 3 is missing a hand lantern and the back-up alarm does not work. Tanker 6 was low on antifreeze, is missing a 4 '/2"to 4" storz 45 degree ell, a DNR 1 '/2" hose, and a section of regular 1 '/2" fire hose. The ford diesel brush truck has 2 extra safety cones. The 1986 Chev grass truck is missing the cover for the radiator overflow tank. The cover has been missing for awhile. The van was low 'h quart on oil and is missing 1 orange hand lantern. The financial report lists our fire fund balance at $66455.18. We received a$10,000 donation from Narveson Management to help equip the Breezy station. A new Hurst pump and combination tool have been purchased for$6500.00 using funds from the donation. Our checking account balance is at $9164.13. There was no correspondence. We sealed two of the underground tanks on 42nd street. The other tanks had water in them and were not able to be sealed. We have received the signed sheet for the City's new drug and alcohol policy fr4om all of the fire fighters. Tom wants is to wash and wax our trucks more frequently and use rainex on the windshields. The wheels should also be waxed. The wall under the stairs is not done yet. Our fire prevention program at the elementary school will be Tuesday, October l ld'. We need six teams of two fire fighters. Natasha, both Bobs, Tom, Dave, Sean, both Daves, Jeremy, Kirk, Tina, Daren, Pat, Neil, and Larry were able to help. We are scheduled to start after lunch at about 12:30 pm. We got a new Hurst tool and pump using the donation from Narveson Management. The new tool will be on the Pete and the old tool should be on the 1995 pump truck, which will be at the Breezy station.
