Fire Chief's Report <br /> COUNCIL MEMBER PFEIFFER MOVED TO ACCEPT THE $10,000 <br /> DONATION FROM NARVESON MANAGEMENT TO THE FIRE <br /> DEPARTMENT TO BE USED FOR FIRE EQUIPMENT. COUNCIL <br /> MEMBER RYAN SECONDED THE MOTION. MOTION CARRIED 7-0. <br /> 9.1. City Hall Sale <br /> The City Clerk reviewed the financial data regarding the purchase of the <br /> new City Hall. She indicated that all money made from the sales of the <br /> three buildings, (Sibley Center, maintenance shop, and old city hall) has <br /> been applied to the new City Hall loan to reduce the debt. <br /> 9.2. Vehicle Policy <br /> Council Member Greer indicated that he would like the Council to have a <br /> City policy on the use of city vehicles. The Clerk stated that there currently <br /> is no written policy regarding vehicle use. The Council discussed the <br /> present situation regarding city vehicle use. Chief Braam indicated he <br /> prefers that the officers take the vehicles home because of insurance <br /> reasons. <br /> Council Member Greer indicated that not allowing the employees to drive <br /> city vehicles home would save on fuel costs. <br /> COUNCIL MEMBER GREER MOVED THAT ALL CITY VEHICLES BE <br /> KEPT AT THE CITY HALL GARAGE EXCEPT FOR THE POLICE <br /> VEHICLES. COUNCIL MEMBER RYAN SECONDED THE MOTION. <br /> Discussion was held regarding liability issues. The Council directed staff to <br /> look into liability issues for employees who drive city vehicles home, and <br /> also whether there is a liability issue if an employee does not drive a city <br /> vehicle home and has to respond to an emergency in a personal vehicle. <br /> COUNCIL MEMBER RYAN WITHDREW THE SECOND TO THE <br /> MOTION AND COUNCIL MEMBER GREER WITHDREW THE MOTION <br /> UNTIL MORE INFORMATION COULD BE ACQUIRED REGARDING <br /> LIABILITY. <br />
