Fire Chief's Report COUNCIL MEMBER PFEIFFER MOVED TO ACCEPT THE $10,000 DONATION FROM NARVESON MANAGEMENT TO THE FIRE DEPARTMENT TO BE USED FOR FIRE EQUIPMENT. COUNCIL MEMBER RYAN SECONDED THE MOTION. MOTION CARRIED 7-0. 9.1. City Hall Sale The City Clerk reviewed the financial data regarding the purchase of the new City Hall. She indicated that all money made from the sales of the three buildings, (Sibley Center, maintenance shop, and old city hall) has been applied to the new City Hall loan to reduce the debt. 9.2. Vehicle Policy Council Member Greer indicated that he would like the Council to have a City policy on the use of city vehicles. The Clerk stated that there currently is no written policy regarding vehicle use. The Council discussed the present situation regarding city vehicle use. Chief Braam indicated he prefers that the officers take the vehicles home because of insurance reasons. Council Member Greer indicated that not allowing the employees to drive city vehicles home would save on fuel costs. COUNCIL MEMBER GREER MOVED THAT ALL CITY VEHICLES BE KEPT AT THE CITY HALL GARAGE EXCEPT FOR THE POLICE VEHICLES. COUNCIL MEMBER RYAN SECONDED THE MOTION. Discussion was held regarding liability issues. The Council directed staff to look into liability issues for employees who drive city vehicles home, and also whether there is a liability issue if an employee does not drive a city vehicle home and has to respond to an emergency in a personal vehicle. COUNCIL MEMBER RYAN WITHDREW THE SECOND TO THE MOTION AND COUNCIL MEMBER GREER WITHDREW THE MOTION UNTIL MORE INFORMATION COULD BE ACQUIRED REGARDING LIABILITY.
