Pequot Lakes - Hwy 371 North
August 21, 2005
turn at the CSAH 17/Front Street intersection(probably impossible or very dangerous at the
least) or to the Jokela Street and back north on Front Street(which is not a 10-ton road and
limiting their"access"with this option).
Semi-trucks wanting to come into this property from the south would need to go north and
make a U-turn at the CSAH 16 intersection(probably impossible or very dangerous at the
least).
A new full access intersection just for this driveway would have problems with it being on
a curve on TH 371 as well as for future access spacing/management.
A service road for this property would be very expensive.
The City is concerned with the approach of MnDOT paying the property owner for partial
lost access yet still allowing trucks to come and go. This approach would not address the
potentially un-safe U-turn maneuvers.
The City is open to the possibility of obtaining this area for green space if this would fit
into MnDOT's approach.
End of Memo
CADocuments and Settings\Administrator\Local Settings\Temporary Internet Files\OLKB\082105 Overall List of Issues-memo.doc
