• CABLE COMMISSION
• The Cable Commission is considering purchasing equipment to all us to
tape City Council meetings for playback on the public access channel. I
am currently the secretary of the commission.
• HELP AMERICA VOTE ACT
• I have been on a working committee at the County to assist in
implementing the Help American Vote Act. The committee consisted of
the County Auditor and Deputy Auditor, the Brainerd City Clerk,
Roosevelt Township Clerk, School District Representative, a
representative from the disabled community and I. A plan has been
drafted and will be implemented upon County Board Approval that will
allow for the use of grant funds to purchase voting equipment for the
disabled for all precincts in the County.
• BUDGETS
• The Clerk's office has been working at putting together a budget for
2006. We have worked closely with all departments in the budget
planning process. We will meet again with the Council in October or
November to review the budgets again prior to setting a final levy.
• STAFF
• Nancy Malecha was on vacation during the week of August 22,2005
• Janet was on vacation during the last week of July
• PARK BOARD
• The Park Board has been very active and persistent in completing the
Trailside Park Project. The Board continues to meet the second Thursday
of each month. Park improvements so far include the trail, electricity,
lighting, extra park benches, edging around the flower gardens, painting
and repair of the gazebo. The Park Board would like to add a picnic
shelter and underground sprinkling. They will be speaking to the Council
about this at the meeting.
