PEQUOT LAKES FIRE DEPARTMENT <br /> MMWTES OF THE JUNE 1, 2005 MEETING <br /> The regular meeting of the PLFD was called to order by Chief Nelson, 23 <br /> members were present. The minutes of the last meeting were read and approved by <br /> a motion by Oaks, second by Casanova, motion passed. <br /> Truck check reports followed. The Peterbuilt was missing a 4 '/2 inch by 5 inch <br /> storz adapter. Engine 2 (1995 pump) has an extra 2 '/z"by 1 '/2" gated wye and an <br /> extra 1 '/2" nozzle. It is missing duct tape and a tow strap. The kill switch was left <br /> on and the battery was dead. Tanker 3 is missing jumper cables. The van checked <br /> out fine. The old grass truck(#5)is missing safety glasses, a funnel, and a shovel. <br /> The Breezy pump (1975)was missing a spanner wrench and a 2 '/2" cap. Tanker 6 <br /> was OK. The water tender(#7)has an extra set of wheel chocks and you cannot <br /> check the brake fluid level. The new grass truck has a missing lantern, safety <br /> glasses, and a McLeod tool. The McLeod tool was found. It also has an extra <br /> shovel, an extra axe, and extra brooms. The fire extinguisher has been mounted. <br /> Anything found extra on a truck should be set on a table out in front so it can be <br /> returned where needed. We need to purchase safety glasses and funnels. <br /> The air mask's batteries were all changed tonight. The old masks at the Breezy <br /> station have not been changed yet. <br /> `. The financial report lists the fire fund balance at approximately$53,000. Our <br /> checking account balance is approximately$4526.00 During the month we paid <br /> for shipping a plaque to Larry Halter for$8.70, bought steel for the hose rack for <br /> $232.70, and purchased 10 cases of pop and 2 cases of water for$60.96. The <br /> scholarship money for$698.58 and a check from Dave Szymanski was deposited <br /> for$24.50. Evenson motioned to approve the financial report and for us to pay for <br /> the plaque shipping, second by Peterson II, motion passed. <br /> The safety officer reminded us all to drive carefully as traffic around the area has <br /> increased. Loven added for all of us to watch out for each other, especially for <br /> exhaustion during warm temperatures. The use of passport tags has been very <br /> good. <br /> There will be a house burn at Pine River on Sunday, June 5, starting at 9 am. We <br /> will take an engine and a tanker. Plan to leave Pequot at 8:30 am. <br /> The next Cuyuna Range meeting will be Thursday, June 161' at Hackensack. Do <br /> not forget the arson class will be held on Wednesday, the 15'x, at Brainerd. <br /> We had our request for a six wheeler.rejected. <br />
