EMERGENCY MEETING OF THE PEQUOT LAKES CITY COUNCIL
TUESDAY, JUNE 14, 2005
PEQUOT LAKES CITY HALL
Members Present: Mayor C. Malecha, Council Members Greer, Bolz-
Andolshek, Nagel Pfeiffer, and Ryan
Members Absent: Council Member Sjoblad
Staff Present: Sandra Peine, City Clerk; Brett Twardy, Water/Wastewater
Superintendent; and Mike Loven, Street Superintendent
1. Call Meeting to Order
Mayor Malecha called the emergency meeting of the Pequot Lakes City
Council to order at 4:00 p.m.
The Mayor explained that the purpose of this meeting is to consider an
offer made on the old city hall building. The offer was presented by realtor
Sheila Holley.
The City Council considered the offer. The offer made was for the building
and for the additional lot the City owns behind the building. The Council
discussed the issue of selling the additional lot at this time. Council
Member Greer indicated that he did not feel the City should include the lot
with the building because the lot would be worth more to the City on its
own.
Sheila Holley explained that the buyer has included a 30-day due
diligence period.
Terms of the offer were discussed.
COUNCIL MEMBER NAGEL MOVED TO ACCEPT THE OFFER FOR
THE CITY HALL BUILDING AND PARCEL OF LAND BEHIND CITY
HALL WITH THE FOLLOWING CONDITIONS:
1. SUBJECT TO A 20 FOOT EASEMENT FOR EXISTING UTILITIES
AND THAT WHEN THE LOT IS DEVELOPED, MOVING THE
SEWER AND WATER LINES WILL BE AT NO EXPENSE TO
THE CITY.
2. THE CITY OF PEQUOT LAKES IS NOT LEGALLY CAPABLE OF
FORGIVING PROPERTY TAXES.
