There is a special on the two way radios like what we recently purchased. These new
radios seem to have a very touchy volume switch and bad speakers. The safety officer
reminded us that our may day radio calls should be made on our end channels, such as#
1 and#16. It would be nice if we could use a private channel at our calls. Mission fire ties
up the fire frequency for medical calls.
The DNR plane can help guide us to fire scenes if they are in service. We can
communicate to them on the DNR frequency. We should use the radios on the air masks.
There is an open house at the Pine River ambulance station on May 16th from 11 am to 1
pm.
There is a Crow wing fire chiefs meeting at Brainerd fire station May 19th
We need to paint the fire office before July 0. Natasha may be able to handle this.
We plan to turn in our DNR fire grant, even though we do not have the Scotty foam tank
yet. Our new yellow brush fire coats need to be marked. The DNR dry hydrant grant was
tabled tonight, due to no decision on a location yet. We need to work on our hose racks.
Wheels should be added to them so they can be moved. We need some steel for this
project and also for legs for our new electric grill. We need to come up with a location for
our fire map boards. The pop machine we have at the station is not needed any more and
we will get rid of it. We also need to find a sealer for our concrete underground tanks that
will work on wet concrete.
Our by-laws need to be updated so members serving in the military will not be penalized
for lost service time. We also need a policy to resolve a tie vote. This could be done
either by the Chief s vote, or the flip of a coin. This will be voted on later.
Oaks motioned to pursue installing steps to the loft area above the office. We should be
able to build them, by following plans of the steps to the council room. The council will
have to approve our plans.
We should submit needs for building issues to the council before August. We should
have better light switching and more receptacles for our grills. Any one with ideas should
inform a committee that is represented by Tom, Pat, Brian, and Mike S.
The Legion Club parking lot needs to be cleaned in the next couple weeks. Plans are to
do it Saturday morning, starting at 6;00 am.
The fire hydrant by Pfeiffer Drug does not work.
The pancake breakfast will be held here at the new station. Plans need to be made for gas
lines, plug in location, parking, and signs directing customers to our new location.
