City Council Minutes May 3, 2005 Page 7 -------------------------- THE MOTION AS AMENDED CARRIED 7-0. 10.6. Pawn Shop Ordinance The City Clerk reviewed the proposed Pawn Shop Ordinance. Council Member Nagel requested the Clerk to check the definitions with the zoning ordinance to ensure there are no conflicts. The Clerk indicated that the ordinance would be brought back to the Council at the next meeting. 11. Maintenance Supervisor's Report Report given by Mike Loven. Mike Loven indicated that he is working with the City Attorney and a property owner on Gravdahl Drive regarding an issue of Gravdahl Drive not being a platted street. 11.1. Tractor Mower Mike Loven reported that he contacted the City of Breezy Point regarding contracting with the City of Pequot Lakes for the use of Breezy Point's tractor mower. He indicated that Breezy Point is not interested in \... contracting their tractor mower out for use. Council Member Greer indicated his concern of running into maintenance problems with the purchase of a used tractor mower. Council discussion pursued regarding the possibility of contracting the ditch mowing. Mike Loven indicated that this is a possibility and has been tried in the past. He stated that the problem is that the ditches don't always get done when expected and the job is sometimes inadequate. COUNCIL MEMBER SJOBLAD MOVED TO SPEND UP TO $7,000 FOR A TRACTOR MOWER. COUNCIL MEMBER PFEIFFER SECONDED THE MOTION. MOTION CARRIED 6-1. COUNCIL MEMBER GREER OPPOSED. The Council suggested that the City continue to check out the possibility of contracting the ditch mowing while still looking for a used tractor mower. 11.2. Award Sale of Trees to Highest Bidder Mike Loven indicated that the City did not receive any bids for the sale of the pine trees. He suggested selling the trees in smaller quantities while still requiring that purchasers provide the required insurance.
