City Council Minutes Page 2 <br /> March 23, 2005 <br /> ----------------------------- <br /> OPERATIONS. COUNCIL MEMBER GREER SECONDED THE <br /> MOTION. MOTION CARRIED 6-0. <br /> 4. Request For Babinski to Use City's Engineering Firm on Project <br /> COUNCIL MEMBER GREER MOVED TO AUTHORIZE WSN TO <br /> CONTRACT WITH DON BABINSKI TO WORK ON HIS PROJECT. <br /> COUNCIL MEMBER NAGEL SECONDED THE MOTION. MOTION <br /> CARRIED 6-0. <br /> 5. Highway 371 Work Session <br /> City Engineer Mike Rude reviewed the March 23, 2005 Highway 371 <br /> North Improvement Project memo addressed to the Mayor and council <br /> from Tim Houle. Mr. Rude explained that the memo lists Highway 371 <br /> issues that have been discussed by the Highway 371 committee. He <br /> indicated that the committee is looking for Council agreement or <br /> objection/revisions to these items. <br /> The Council reviewed the memo item by item. The responses are <br /> numbered to correlate with the numbered items in the memo. "No <br /> Comment" means that the Council concurred with the committee's <br /> response as stated in the memo. <br /> 1 — 3) No comment. <br /> 4) It was noted that the City costs need to be determined as soon as <br /> possible. <br /> 5) The question was asked whether the City could give municipal <br /> consent yet have conditions on areas that are in discussion. <br /> 6 -14) No comment. <br /> 15) The City may want to create an alternate route to get to the access. <br /> Could MnDOT put in a west access for the City to stub into at some <br /> point? <br /> 16 -18) No comment. <br /> 19) It was noted by the Council that a backage road in this area has <br /> been part of the Sibley Township plan for many years and <br /> MnDOT's proposal for a frontage road is contrary to those planning <br /> efforts. <br />
