City Council Minutes Page 3 March 1, 2005 ----------------------------- COUNCIL MEMBER GREER MOVED TO TABLE THE DECISION ON CONTRACTING WITH COMMUNITY GROWTH UNTIL FURTHER INFORMATION CAN BE RECEIVED REGARDING OTHER POSSIBILITIES SUCH AS WORKING WITH HOME TOWN MINNESOTA OR THE INITIATIVE FOUNDATION. COUNCIL MEMBER PFEIFFER SECONDED THE MOTION.MOTION CARRIED 6-0. 5.4. Housing Plan Sharon Thurlow of the HRA spoke to the Council regarding a housing plan. She indicated that she has the opportunity to hire an intern from the Humphrey Institute for 100 hours at$10 per hour contingent on receiving grant funds from the Initiative Foundation.The intern would look at the existing housing stock in the community and see how it can be improved with affordable housing. Sharon indicated that a housing plan should support the goals in the comprehensive plan. COUNCIL MEMBER NAGEL MOVED TO AUTHORIZE THE HRA TO PROCEED WITH A HOUSING PLAN.COUNCIL MEMBER RYAN SECONDED THE MOTION.MOTION CARRIED 6-0. 5.2. Environmental Assessment Over-flight Proposal Alan Cibuzar of A.W. Research presented a proposal for an over-flight environmental assessment of the lakes in Pequot Lakes for$1,746. COUNCIL MEMBER NAGEL MOVED TO ACCEPT THE PROPOSAL FROM A.W.RESEARCH FOR AN ENVIRONMENTAL ASSESSMENT OVERFLIGHT OF THE LAKES WITHIN THE CITY OF PEQUOT LAKES FOR$1,746. COUNCIL MEMBER BOLZ-ANDOLSHEK SECONDED THE MOTION. MOTION CARRIED 6-0. 5.5. Consider Planning and Zoning Applicants Dawn Bittner indicated that three positions on the Planning Commission have expired. She noted that the City advertised for the positions and received two applications; one from Tom Woog requesting reappointment and one from Scott Pederson. The Council reviewed the applications. COUNCIL MEMBER RYAN MOVED THE FOLLOWING APPOINTMENTS TO THE PLANNING COMMISSION: TOM WOOG—3/12/05 TO 3/12/08 SCOTT PEDERSON—3/12/05 TO 3/12/08 COUNCIL MEMBER BOLZ-ANDOLSHEK SECONDED THE MOTION. MOTION CARRIED 6-0.
