I was intending to make a verbal report on just a couple of things,but as recently as last Friday we had several additional items come in, thus this written report. Following is a summary of our recent efforts on various projects and assistance to the City: A. Industrial Park Improvements • The Veterinary Clinic has already granted the City their"half'of a permanent easement for the extension of sanitary sewer and watermain. • The Auto Body Shop has yet to grant the City their"half' of this permanent easement. We continue to answer their questions. The latest is that they will try to get to it the week of Feb. 7. B. MnDOT T.H. 371 Improvements • Final Environmental Impact Statement(EIS)comments are due to MnDOT by February 16, 2005. • Unless the Council directs us to,we will NOT be reviewing the Final EIS. Instead,we will continue to work with MnDOT thru the City's TH 371 Committee on comments for the Final Layout and on the cost-sharing Agreement. • Speaking of the TH 371 Committee, we had our first meeting last week. We started going through the project from south to north reviewing with MnDOT's representative,Tim Bray,their responses to the City's October 8, 2004 comments. We did not make it through the whole stretch, and decided to have another meeting in a little over a week. Once we get through the whole corridor once,I intend to get updates to the Council on how the City's comments have been addressed. • Some items the Committee and MnDOT are coming to conclusions on, at which point we would then ask for Council concurrence. Other items need more back and forth before a conclusion will be reached on them. • Finally,MnDOT was asked what is the chance of the bypass option being re-reviewed by them. MnDOT said they proceeded with earlier comments and direction by the Council (and by other Cities as well as internal decisions by MnDOT) and are basically done with the process. Thus,to throw all this work away and to look at this bypass alignment is, for all intents and purposes, not an option at this point.
