City Council Minutes <br /> February 2, 2005 <br /> Page 5 <br /> ---------------------------- <br /> COUNCIL MEMBER SJOBLAD MOVED TO APPROVE BRETT <br /> TWARDY'S REQUEST TO ATTEND THE MRWA CONFERENCE AND <br /> THE WASTEWATER OPERATIONS CONFERENCE. COUNCIL <br /> MEMBER NAGEL SECONDED THE MOTION. MOTION CARRIED 7-0. <br /> Brett Twardy indicated that he is requesting Council permission to begin <br /> the process of hiring a temporary employee for the water/wastewater <br /> department from April 1, 2005 through December 31, 2005 with the pay to <br /> be about $11.00 to $12.00 per hour. <br /> COUNCIL MEMBER GREER MOVED TO AUTHORIZE BRETT <br /> TWARDY TO START THE INTERVIEW PROCESS FOR THE <br /> TEMPORARY EMPLOYEE WITH COUNCIL MEMBER RYAN AND TO <br /> COME TO THE COUNCIL WITH A RECOMMENDATION FOR HIRING <br /> AN EMPLOYEE. COUNCIL MEMBER PFEIFFER SECONDED THE <br /> MOTION. MOTION CARRIED 7-0. <br /> Council Member Ryan indicated that he is working on the rate structure for <br /> water and sewer and will report to the Council when he is finished. <br /> 10. Fire Chiefs Report <br /> Report by Chief Tom Nelson. Chief Nelson questioned if the City has <br /> plans to replace the gutters on the east side of the City Hall building. <br /> Council Member Sjoblad stated that there are plans to have them fixed. <br /> Chief Nelson requested help from the Street Department to remove the <br /> snow from the hydrants. <br /> 11.1. Comp Time <br /> The Clerk requested to increase the number of comp hours allowed to be <br /> accumulated from 40 to 80. <br /> COUNCIL MEMBER RYAN MOVED TO INCREASE THE NUMBER OF <br /> COMP HOURS ON THE BOOKS FROM 40 TO 80 DURING THE YEAR <br /> WITH A MAXIMUM OF 40 HOURS OF COMP TO BE ALLOWED TO BE <br /> CARRIED OVER AT THE END OF THE YEAR. COUNCIL MEMBER <br /> GREER SECONDED THE MOTION. MOTION CARRIED 7-0. <br /> 11.2. Audit and GASB 34 <br /> The Clerk recommended that the Council approve a full GASB 34 audit for <br /> the 2004 audit. She stated that the Council must set a capital asset <br />
