City Council Minutes <br /> January 4, 2005 <br /> Page 7 <br /> --------------------------- <br /> Council Member Ryan indicated that he would like to have the Department <br /> Heads give a monthly report to the Council. <br /> COUNCIL MEMBER RYAN MOVED TO HAVE THE CLERK AND <br /> HIMSELF CREATE A FORMAT FOR MONTHLY DEPARTMENT <br /> REPORTS. COUNCIL MEMBER BOLZ-ANDOLSHEK SECONDED THE <br /> MOTION. MOTION CARRIED 7-0. <br /> 13. City Engineer's Report <br /> Tim Houle, City Engineer indicated that the drainage study for the <br /> Marshall Street Pequot Boulevard area will be presented to the Council in <br /> February. Larry Lien, a resident of the affected area stated that he does <br /> not want more water to drain onto his property. The Council suggested <br /> that Mr. Lien be present at the February meeting when the issue will be <br /> reviewed. <br /> 13.1. Highway 371 Update <br /> Tim Houle explained that a meeting was held with the County Engineer <br /> regarding the possible realignment of County Road 11 off of Main Street to <br /> the south along East Woodman. He indicated that the County Engineer <br /> stated that the County would possibly be interested in paying a portion of <br /> a feasibility study regarding County Road 11. Tim also noted that a <br /> Highway 371 Committee meeting is scheduled to be held in January. <br /> Council Member Sjoblad addressed the safety issue of an eight-lane <br /> highway going through the town. He stated that he feels the Council made <br /> a mistake in recommending to MnDOT that the highway go through town. <br /> He indicated that the City should look at other options. Council Member <br /> Sjoblad stated he would like to revisit the issue with MnDOT and find out <br /> what the citizens of Pequot Lakes would like to see in regard to the <br /> highway. <br /> COUNCIL MEMBER SJOBLAD MOVED TO REQUEST MNDOT TO RE- <br /> EXAMINE THE BYPASS ISSUE. <br /> THE MOTION DIED FOR LACK OF A SECOND. <br /> Other council discussion was held regarding the highway. Tim Houle <br /> indicated that the Highway 371 Committee would address MnDOT <br /> regarding these issues. <br /> 14.1. Check Signatures <br />
