City Council Minutes <br /> January 4, 2005 <br /> Page 8 <br /> --------------------------- <br /> L <br /> COUNCIL MEMBER PFEIFFER MOVED TO REMOVED JOANNE <br /> JOHNSON FROM THE BANK SIGNATURES AND TO AUTHORIZE <br /> MAYOR MALECHA AND SANDRA PEINE TO SIGN CITY CHECKS. <br /> COUNCIL MEMBER RYAN SECONDED THE MOTION. MOTION <br /> CARRIED 7-0. <br /> 14.2. Planning and Zoning Commission <br /> Council Member Ryan brought up the issue of the size of the Planning and <br /> Zoning Commission. He questioned if the Commission size could be <br /> reduced to save money on the budget. The issue of payment to the <br /> members was also raised. The Clerk was requested to research other <br /> surrounding cities regarding the size and amount of pay received by other <br /> Planning and Zoning Commissions. <br /> 14.3. Department Heads Attending Council Meetings <br /> Council Member Ryan indicated that he did not feel it was necessary for <br /> all department heads to attend the entire Council meetings. He indicated <br /> his concern regarding the cost to the City for department heads to attend <br /> the meetings. Council discussion pursued, however no decision was made <br /> regarding the issue. <br /> 15. Adjournment <br /> There being no further business, COUNCIL MEMBER PFEIFFER <br /> MOVED TO ADJOURN THE MEETING. COUNCIL MEMBER RYAN <br /> SECONDED THE MOTION. MOTION CARRIED 7-0. <br /> The regular meeting of the City Council adjourned at 10:25 p.m. <br /> a ectfull�y�submmiitted, <br /> Sandra A. Peine <br /> City Clerk <br />
