CITY OF PEQUOT LAKES
MONTHLY WATER/WASTEWATER REPORT
NOVEMBER 2006
L..
Prepared by: Tina Nolden (Water/WW Operator)
WATERPLANT: Our Auto-Dialer has been serviced and is being
shipped back to us. We have their loaner in the meantime. I had an
interview with Sam Schwankee, Hydrology Student, on Nov. I".
She asked questions about how I got into this field of work and the
daily duties of running the water plant. I was able to answer all of
her questions and she thanked me for my time. On Nov. 3rd, I had
Jason with LARSCO Company work on our chlorine feed system.
There was a plugged line that he located and repaired. He also
replaced a few old parts on each gauge. I watched and learned
while he took care of that. I met with Scott Warner on Nov. 7t'
and went over our daily duties with him. He provided lots of good
information. On Nov. 8t', I replaced a couple small lines that were
leaking from our High Service Pumps. After doing that, I
discovered that one of our butterfly valves isn't working properly.
I ordered a new one and we should be able to get it installed next
week. I noticed Nov. 9ffi that our Fluoride pumps had lost their
prime, but worked with them and got things pumping. However, a
few days later, they lost prime again. So, I spent a little more time
on them. They've been working well now these last few days and
I'm keeping a close eye on it. I may need to order new valves, but
we'll see how it goes. I've been looking into getting our clearwells
cleaned and believe it will be far more cost efficient to drain one
tank at a time rather than having them cleaned while full of water. I
also think the cleaning will be much more thorough. I'm still
checking around.
