City Council Minutes
November 8, 2006
---------------------------
13.2. School Zone Signs
Mike Loven requested the Council to authorize the establishment of a
school zone along South Oak Street. This would require the City to post
the speed limit at 20 miles per hour when children are present during
school activities.
COUNCIL MEMBER NAGEL MOVED TO ADOPT RESOLUTION 06-36
ESTABLISHING A SCHOOL ZONE ON SOUTH OAK STREET.
COUNCIL MEMBER PFEIFFER SECONDED THE MOTION. MOTION
CARRIED 7-0.
14.1. TDS Information
Tim Houle updated the Council on information regarding the sanitary
sewer off of Front Street next to the Cole Memorial Building and Pestellos.
He noted that the City met with TDS to discuss the sewer back ups. He
stated that the research shows that the slope of the pipe in this area is
flatter than current required standards. He further noted that this is not the
only case in the City; therefore just replacing one segment will not solve
the problem. Due to the amount of street restoration involved in replacing
\.. the sanitary sewer, it is cost prohibitive for the City at this time. The
Engineer suggested that in the interim the city keep all roots out of the line
and flush and jet periodically. He also noted that if the trees next to Front
Street by the Cole Memorial Building are causing problems, they may
need to be removed.
The Clerk noted that she would contact TDS and inform them of the City's
findings.
14.2. Trailside Estates Update
The Engineer provided a progress report on the Trailside Estates project.
15. Other Business
There was no other business.
14. Adjournment
There being no further business, COUNCIL MEMBER SJOBLAD MOVED
TO ADJOURN. COUNCIL MEMBER ORASKOVICH SECONDED THE
MOTION. MOTION CARRIED 7-0.
