Appointment of Election Judges <br /> COUNCIL MEMBER ORASKOVICH MOVED TO ADOPT RESOLUTION <br /> 06-34 APPOINTING ELECTION JUDGES FOR THE 2006 GENERAL <br /> ELECTION ON NOVEMBER 7, 2006. COUNCIL MEMBER SJOBLAD <br /> SECONDED THE MOTION. MOTION CARRIED 7-0. <br /> 11.5. Personnel Policy Amendment <br /> The Clerk noted that the Firefighters have requested to add language to <br /> the personnel policy as follows: <br /> 7. Firefighters: Volunteer Firefighters subject to the provisions of <br /> Pequot Lakes Volunteer Fire Department Organizational Statement shall <br /> be subject to the provisions of this policy manual, unless this policy <br /> specifically indicates that said firefighters are subject to certain provisions <br /> of the Pequot Lakes Volunteer Fire Department Organizational Statement <br /> or in cases where the Pequot Lakes Volunteer Fire Department <br /> Organizational Statement is more specific. <br /> COUNCIL MEMBER PFEIFFER MOVED TO APROVE THE ADDITION <br /> TO THE PERSONNEL POLICY AS REQUESTED. COUNCIL MEMBER <br /> ORASKOVICH SECONDED THE MOTION. MOTION CARRIED 7-0. <br /> The Police Chief requested the Council to authorize the use of two or <br /> three police reserves to assist with a fundraiser at Norway Ridge on <br /> October 20th. It was the consensus of the Council to authorize the use of <br /> the police reserves for the event. <br /> 12. Maintenance Supervisor's Report <br /> Report reviewed by Council. Council Member Sjoblad noted that Mike <br /> Loven has continued to try to contact Potlatch regarding the land <br /> easement issue, however, Potlatch has not responded to his calls. Council <br /> discussion pursued regarding whether the City should pursue <br /> condemnation or wait until the land is developed. No action was taken. <br /> 13.1. MPCA Discussion <br /> City Engineer Tim Houle questioned the Council on how it would like to <br /> move forward with the highway issue after hearing from the MPCA <br /> regarding the spray irrigation field. Council discussion pursued on how to <br /> proceed. The Council requested the Clerk to contact MnDOT to have them <br />
