City Council Minutes <br /> August 1, 2006 <br /> Page 8of10 <br /> ---------------------------- <br /> The Clerk informed the Council that Chris Greer has resigned from the <br /> office of Council Member. Mayor Malecha requested names from the <br /> Council of people who the Council could consider appointing. The <br /> following names were submitted: Jim Oraskovich, David Kennedy, and <br /> Ryan Buell. Council Member Bolz-Andolshek noted that Ryan Buell has <br /> declined. <br /> COUNCIL MEMBER SJOBLAD MOVED TO APPOINT JIM <br /> ORASKOVICH TO THE VACANT COUNCIL SEAT CREATED BY <br /> CHRIS GREER, UNTIL THE QUALIFICATION OF A SUCCESSOR. <br /> COUNCIL MEMBER NAGEL SECONDED THE MOTION. MOTION <br /> CARRIED 6-0. <br /> Discussion took place regarding the definition of the "qualification of a <br /> successor." The Clerk indicated she would have an answer for the Council <br /> by August 8th at the next meeting. <br /> 12.8. Budget Work Session <br /> The Clerk questioned if the Council would be willing to begin meeting at <br /> 5:30 on August 8th for the budget work session. <br /> COUNCIL MEMBER NAGEL MOVED TO CALL A SPECIAL MEETING <br /> OF THE COUNCIL FOR AUGUST 8, 2006, AT 5:30 P.M. FOR A <br /> BUDGET WORK SESSION OF THE COUNCIL. COUNCIL MEMBER <br /> SJOBLAD SECONDED THE MOTION. MOTION CARRIED 6-0. <br /> 12.9. Ordinance Establishing Fees for Fire Service <br /> The Clerk informed the Council that the Fire Board has requested the City <br /> to adopt an ordinance allowing Pequot to pursue billing for fire charges <br /> and to bill contract areas for delinquent bills once a year. The ordinance <br /> will also allow the City to certify unpaid charges to taxes. <br /> COUNCIL MEMBER RYAN MOVED TO ADOPT ORDINANCE 06-16 <br /> ESTABLISHING FEES FOR EMERGENCY PROTECTION FIRE <br /> SERVICES. COUNCIL MEMBER BOLZ-ANDOLSHEK SECONDED THE <br /> MOTION. MOTION CARRIED 6-0. <br /> COUNCIL MEMBER RYAN MOVED TO ADOPT AN ORDINANCE <br /> SUMMARY FOR PUBLICATION FOR ORDINANCE 06-16.
