Fire fighter deaths recently are a 17 year old who died in a tanker accident on a bridge, `. another vehicle hit a tree, and another was caught in between a ladder truck and a wall. We need a count on who is going to Palisade for their rodeo. Dusty, Dave S.,Brian, Jeremie,Daren, and Tasty Bob are going. Brian is not participating. There will be a hose relay practice at the station on noon on Saturday. The Exec Board voted Sean Stoehr off the department due to his bad attendance at all fire functions. Oaks motioned to accept the news, second by Rickard,motion passed. We have all his gear and equipment. The City has a new policy for harassment, personnel, technology, and tobacco. The Chief does not like the fact that fire fighters are not defined to be included. He will talk to City officials about this. We are going to get an ambulance for$1500.00 from North. It is a 1996 with about 120,000 miles. It will include all lights and a siren. Evenson motioned we approve the deal, second by Varilek,motion passed unanimous. The Water and Sewer department put up a dividing wall on our south side. Their cost was about$1140.00. We need to figure out want we want to do with our area. Oaks will do a cost estimate for floor trusses and bearing supports for a possible second floor meeting or training area.Any plan will have to be approved by all and must take all info into consideration. The committee for the pancake breakfast reported we need two more pancake batter dispensers,a power cord for the electric griddles,two more electric roasters,more serving tongs, and 10 new tables. We should also be looking into another grill. Oaks motioned we purchase the needed tongs and two batter dispensers, second by Zeimet, motion passed unanimous. Two roasters will be donated. There will be an Officer's meeting next Wednesday, August 9b at 7 pm. There will be air care training at 6:00 pm on August 23 at the Breezy station. Jeremie wants to take the four wheeler and the rescue trailer to the county fair next Friday and Saturday. The trailer lights should be repaired before that. Rickard motioned we purchase a new dump tank liner and repair the old frame, second by Casanova,motion passed unanimous. Oaks will be applying for a grant. We should give him any information anyone has. We have an application for the DNR matching grant due in October. We are not going to apply for a hydrant this time. We should go for equipment for the new tanker.
