No direct access for this development will be permitted to Highway 371. There is an existing
access to one residential property, which is not part of the development. In order to prevent RV
use of this access, the internal roads of this development should be redesigned so they do not
connect to the residential access.
2. We understand that the development will access Hurtig Road, which connects to County Road
168 (Mayo Lake Road). This development will increase traffic at the Highway 371/CR 168
intersection. The future four-lane expansion, including safety improvements at this intersection
are now scheduled beyond 2010. Since the development will most likely be fully occupied prior
to Highway 371 construction,as well as increased development in this area, safety improvements
will most likely be needed before the expansion project. The development should not rely on
safety improvements planned as part of the Highway 371 expansion project, due to the uncertainty
of when the Highway 371 project will be built.
3. A traffic study should be completed in order to identify cumulative traffic impacts of future
development within this area and safety improvements needed to support it.
4. There can be no net increase in storm water runoff from the development to the Highway 371
right of way. A stormwater management plan should be submitted to Mn/DOT for review.
5. A permit is required to perform any work in the right of way, construct any entrances or change in
use of an entrance.
An equal opportunity employer
