City Council Minutes <br /> March 8, 2006 <br /> Page 9 of 11 <br /> ----------------------------- <br /> which there was no documentation. The Clerk noted that this was an error <br /> made many years ago that was found by the State Auditor. <br /> COUNCIL MEMBER RYAN MOVED TO TRANSFER $1,334 FROM THE <br /> GENERAL FUND TO THE TIF FUND FOR THE 2005 FINANCIAL <br /> STATEMENTS. COUNCIL MEMBER PFEIFFER SECONDED THE <br /> MOTION. MOTION CARRIED 5-0. <br /> 10.7. Local Option Sales Tax <br /> The Clerk updated the Council on this topic. She noted that she and the <br /> Mayor met with legislators regarding the implementation of a local sales <br /> tax of .05 percent. She indicated that if legislation is passed to pursue this, <br /> the City will be moving forward to educate the public and to have the <br /> question on the ballot. <br /> 10.8. Paul Bunvan Scenic Byway <br /> The Clerk indicated that the Paul Bunyan Scenic Byway Association is <br /> requesting support from the City. The Council suggested that the Park <br /> Board review this request. <br /> 10.9. Smokey Hollow Building <br /> The Clerk informed the Council that the Chamber is considering <br /> discontinuing the lease of the Smokey Hollow building. The Clerk noted <br /> that she will keep the Council up to date on the issue. <br /> 11. Maintenance Supervisor's Report <br /> Report reviewed by Council. <br /> 11.1. Nickel Road <br /> Mike Loven informed the Council that Nickel Road does provide access to <br /> a wildlife management area. The Council noted that the City should not <br /> have to pay to upgrade this road. The Council suggested that Breezy <br /> Point pay for the upgrade as it is used mainly by Breezy Point residents. <br /> Council Member Greer had the following requests: <br />
