SAFETY OFFICER <br /> Requirements <br /> Same as basic firefighter plus the following: <br /> `'• Firefighter 1 certification <br /> • Minimum 3 years on Pequot Lakes Fire Dept. <br /> • Safety Officer class from accredited sectional school or equivalent <br /> • Accountability class from accredited sectional school or equivalent <br /> • 1 st Arriving Officer class from accredited sectional school or equivalent <br /> Job Description <br /> • Same as basic firefighter plus the following: <br /> • Attends monthly officers meetings <br /> • Adheres to a high code of conduct, displays a professional attitude and image not only while on duty but also in <br /> personal life while serving as a department officer <br /> • Ensures safety at all Pequot Lakes Fire Department activities, fire/rescue scenes, trainings and drills. <br /> ASST. CHIEFS— Is` & 2°d Assistants <br /> Requirements <br /> • Same as basic firefighter plus the following: <br /> • Minimum of 5 years on the Pequot Lakes Fire Department <br /> • Firefighter 2 certification <br /> • Safety Officer class from accredited sectional school or equivalent <br /> • Accountability class from accredited sectional school or equivalent <br /> �.• 1 st Arriving Officer class from accredited sectional school or equivalent <br /> • Incident command class from accredited sectional school or equivalent <br /> • Leadership 1 class from accredited sectional school or equivalent <br /> • Leadership 2 class from accredited sectional school or equivalent <br /> Job Description <br /> • Same as basic firefighter plus the following: <br /> • Reports directly to chief 1 <br /> • May take operations at emergency scenes and/or incidents (operations) when in the officer's seat <br /> • Supervises operation of apparatus by others when officer on scene <br /> • May serve as a project team leader at drills, fire prevention and other departmental operations <br /> • Adheres to a high code of conduct, displays a professional attitude and image not only while on duty but also in <br /> personal life while serving as a department officer <br /> • Conveys and transmits information verbally or in written form in a clear, concise and appropriate manner <br /> • Attends monthly officers meetings <br /> • Effectively applies the incident command system at all types of incidents <br /> • Provides leadership, supervision and support to the firefighters during operations under extreme conditions <br /> • Assists in formulating and implementing policies and procedures/budgets necessary to the operation of the fire <br /> department with the fire chief. <br /> • Assumes ultimate command of emergency incidents when necessary <br />
