Del Anderson updated the Council on the Park Board projects for <br /> 2006. Del requested funding in the amount of$21,600 for park projects <br /> and $4,000 for holiday lighting. Council Member Greer suggested holding <br /> off on the black dirt, seed, and sprinkling of the Trailside Park until later in <br /> the year so that there would not be a possibility of vehicles driving on the <br /> new grass. Mr. Anderson indicated that there would be no driving on much <br /> of the newly seeded area. Mr. Anderson indicated that he and Mr. <br /> Koslofsky are getting bids for the work to be done and the bids would be <br /> presented to the Council for consideration. <br /> Mayor Malecha indicated that the Sertoma Club donated $960 for picnic <br /> tables and benches in the park. <br /> COUNCIL MEMBER GREER MOVED TO RELEASE $25,600 FROM <br /> THE PARK BUDGET TO BE USED AS FOLLOWS: <br /> • WATERING SYSTEM AT TRAILSIDE PARK <br /> • BLACK DIRT FOR TRAILSIDE PARK <br /> • SIBLEY LAKE STEPS AND RAILING <br /> • GRASS SEED FOR TRAILSIDE PARK <br /> L-- • PAINTING OF PICNIC SHELTER AT TRAILSIDE PARK <br /> • FENCE CONSTRUCTION AT TRAILSIDE PARK <br /> • PICNIC TABLES AND BENCHES AT BOTH PARKS <br /> • HOLIDAY LIGHTING ON DOWNTOWN LIGHT POLES <br /> COUNCIL MEMBER PFEIFFER SECONDED THE MOTION. MOTION <br /> CARRIED 5-0. <br /> 5.3. HRA Update <br /> Sharon Thurlow, Executive Director of the HRA, indicated that the HRA <br /> has an opportunity to purchase property on South Oak Street. She noted <br /> the property would be used to construct three affordable homes. Ms. <br /> Thurlow noted that the HRA is requesting the City's verbal support of the <br /> project and some type of monetary support for the project. The Council <br /> indicated its support of the project. As for the monetary support, the <br /> Council noted it would like more time to discuss the issue. Sharon Thurlow <br /> indicated that she would be more prepared to address the Council <br /> regarding monetary needs at the April Council meeting. <br /> 6.1. Request to Reconsider Council Decision to Rezone Property to Urban <br /> Residential by Corky Smith <br />
