■ NEW OFFICE ASSISTANT POSITION
We received 80 applications for the position of office assistant. We had several good
applicants.
■ AUDIT
Auditors from LasonAllen were at City Hall from March 20—March 24. They have
informed us that the Audit is going much smoother than last year. Nancy Malecha
deserves much credit for the efficiency of this year's audit.
■ OFFICE EQUIPMENT
We have received the new copy machine that was budgeted for 2006. The machine is
much more technical and much faster than the old copier. The old copier has been given
to the Police Department.
The Clerk's office has received a new computer which was a budgeted item in 2006. The
old computer has been given to the Water/Sewer Department.
■ MCFOA CONFERENCE
I attended the Minnesota Clerk's and Finance Officer's Conference in March. This is
usually an excellent conference. Some of the topics that were covered include election
training(which was a required training), establishing fair fees, bonding procedures, and
licensing. There were also several general speakers. The conference also provides an
opportunity for clerks to associate with their peers. Another benefit of the conference is
being able to talk to the vendors that provide essential services to cities. There were 60
vendors at the conference.
