MONTHLY STAFF REPORT <br /> City Clerk's Office <br /> February 2006 <br /> Meetings <br /> • February 1 —Attended speech by Governor Pawlenty <br /> • February 1 -Meeting with Initiative Foundation—Under-pass Grant <br /> • February 2—Maintenance Worker Interviews <br /> • February 3 —Pay Equity Committee <br /> • February 7—Special Council Meeting at 5:30 on Sales Tax <br /> • February 7—Regular Council Meeting <br /> • February 9—Staff Meeting <br /> • February 10—Park Board Meeting <br /> • February 22—PLADO Meeting <br /> • February 22—Meeting with Engineer, Planner and Staff regarding mapping <br /> • February 25 —Meeting at Baxter Town Hall Regarding Sales Tax <br /> • February 27—Ray Niemann-Pay Range for New Position in Police <br /> Department <br /> Projects/Issues <br /> \.. SAFETY TRAINING/PROGRAM <br /> • The City of Pequot Lakes hosted an Excavation Training put on by <br /> Southwestern College. We had 15 people attend from our City and other <br /> surrounding cities. The City was able to invoice the college $500 for <br /> marketing the program and for using City Hall as a training Center. The cost <br /> of the program was $35.00 per individual attending. This was a very <br /> successful program. <br /> • Four communities will be joining the City of Pequot Lakes in a venture to <br /> provide safety programs for our cities at a reduced cost. This program is <br /> spearheaded by the City of Pequot Lakes. The cities joining us are Nisswa, <br /> East Gull Lake, Lakeshore, and Breezy Point. <br /> ■ LOCAL OPTION SALES TAX <br /> ■ Have attended meetings with the City of Baxter to discuss the possibility of a <br /> local option sales tax. Have also discussed this with Senator Ruud and <br /> Representative Howes. <br />
