1. Revegetate 25-feet back from the OHW with native species. Place a berm <br /> along the south edge of this vegetation to stop stormwater. <br /> 2. Place a swale in the yard to catch stormwater. <br /> 3. Plant 6 trees in the backyard to create a tree canopy. <br /> Mrs. Whitty stated they would contact a contractor to begin work within a week. The PC <br /> Members felt confident that this construction would be completed in 2005. <br /> On November 8 I left a telephone message requesting an update on their progress. I <br /> received no response. On December 6 I wrote them a letter requesting an update by <br /> December 14 and received a note from them on December 13 that the trees and grass had <br /> been planted,the ground had been too soft and that a bobcat may need to be used to <br /> complete the project or may have to be done by hand. (Staff has not verified the planting <br /> of the trees or grass due to snow cover.) <br /> On January 17, 2006,I sent them a letter and informed them they ad not indicated a <br /> timeframe for completion in their December 13 response. They mailed me a copy of <br /> their proposal from Landsburg Landscape Nursery and Landsburg's planting plan. <br /> (These copies received Jan. 19). This still did not indicate a timeframe for completion. <br /> The Planning Commission directed me to contact the Whitty's and inform them that no <br /> heavy equipment or bobcats could be used in this construction. (Letter mailed 1127106). <br /> Staff and/or Planning Commission Members will be on-site during this construction, <br /> which should be completed early in the 2006 construction season. <br /> The Whitty's have been invoiced to reimburse the City for expenses incurred to date in <br /> the amount of$393.25. <br /> ❖ There were 4,762 miles logged on the white City Car in 2005. The breakdown by <br /> department is as follows: <br /> Clerk—804. <br /> Roads/Maintenance/Industrial Park— 1,010. <br /> Police—719. <br /> Water/Wastewater—725. <br /> Planning and Zoning— 1,504. <br /> ❖ Demolition Permits—The Minnesota Pollution Control Agency(MPCA) <br /> furnished local government units(LGU) with a 7-page document/questionnaire <br /> for homeowners or contractors to complete regarding demolition with potential <br /> asbestos contamination. The intent of the MPCA was to make <br /> homeowners/contractors aware of state and federal rules and regulations <br /> regarding asbestos demolition and disposal.
