AGENDA ITEM #10.7. <br /> REPORT TO <br /> CITY COUNCIL <br /> Date: January 3, 2006 <br /> Subject: Cable Commission Grant <br /> Report: See attached Letter to City Council regarding grant <br /> funds. The grant requests need to be to the Cable Commission by <br /> January 15, 2006. I realize that this does not give the Council much <br /> time to consider what it would like to use the grant funds for. <br /> The grant is a one time grant of$5,000 per cable commission <br /> member. The money comes from a one percent franchise fee from <br /> Charter Cable. The requirement for spending the $5,000 in grant <br /> funds is as follows: <br /> Senior Care, Video Equipment, Scholarships, Park Equipment and <br /> other program improvements that directly benefit the citizens. It is <br /> requested that normal budget items not be funded with the grant <br /> money. <br /> Council Action Requested: <br /> ■ Council discussion on how to use the grant money. <br /> ■ Council motion to apply for the grant money. <br />
