We need larger life jackets for ice rescue.
We need firefighters to help with an ice rescue demonstration next Thursday at the school
between 3:30 and 5:30 pm during snowmobile safety classes.
Chief Rudek reminded us we cannot transfer any patients using the snowmobile(at the
Breezy station), unless it is approved by North Ambulance personnel. Anyone driving the
snowmobile must wear a helmet. There is a helmet available at the station.
Safety Bob has passed his first responder test. Congratulations Bob.
We thank Bill for his recent donation for the hose rack at the Breezy station.
The Chief wants to move the 95 pump truck to the Breezy station. It has a pump heater
and NFPA codes says a front line pump needs to 1991, or newer. Bill motioned to move
the 1995 pump to Breezy and the 1975 pump back to Pequot. The motion was seconded
by Kirk Larson. Dan opposed the idea and states we need an SOP and a plan of who and
what goes where. Neil agreed with Dan about his idea to take two pumps to a scene, as
long as we meet state guidelines. Bill and Kirk retracted their motions
Safety Bob thought we should have a hurst tool at Breezy, and several fire fighters
agreed.
The Chief asked if the group wants him to be a tie breaker in case of a tie during officer
elections. Dan reminded us that the by-laws call for a coin toss to break ties.
The election committee took over the meeting. Nominations for Fire Chief were for Tom,
with no other nominations. Dan motioned we elect Tom Fire Chief by a unanimous
ballot, second by Bill, motion passed.
Nominations for First Assistant Chief were for Szymanski, Casanova, Rickard, and
Loven. Dave Szymanski was elected.
Nominations for Second Assistant Chief were for Loven, Rickard, Casanova, Evenson,
Bridge, and Oaks. Evenson and Bridge declined nomination. Casanova was elected.
Nominations for Captains were for Rickard, Bridge, Evenson, Oaks, Peterson I,Nordby,
and Varilek. Elected Captains were Rickard, Evenson, and Varilek. Three separate
elections were held.
Nominations for Safety Officer were for Peterson H, Bridge, and Nordby. Bridge
declined nomination. Nordby was elected.
Nominations for two Training Officers were for Loven, Peterson II, Selter, Knutson,
Oaks, and Schwankl. Oaks declined nomination. Elected were Loven and Schwankl.
