Budget amendments that were requested by the Council on August 14`h have been made. The Council will be asked to set the preliminary levy. Staff has been asked to review budgets and be prepared to lower their budgets. Storm Water Jeanyne has begun the process of entering the parcels of property from Sibley Township into the billing system. This process will take some time. Once that is complete we will review existing parcels to ensure all are being billed correctly. At some point following this process, the Council will hold a public informational meeting to discuss the implementation of the storm drainage fee to all residents and to amend the ordinance. We would like to say we will begin billing at the first of the year, but are not sure if this will be possible. We will keep the Council informed of the progress. Utility Rate Study We are currently working with Ehlers on the Utility Rate Study. This process included working with WSN to put together a preliminary capital improvement plan for water and sewer. This information is necessary for the rate study. We have completed the capital improvement plan. This plan is very preliminary and will eventually be presented to the Council at a work session. We plan on having a capital improvement work session after the Highway decision has been made. Job Evaluation Committee The Job Evaluation Committee has been meeting to review job points. The Clerk's office is working with Ray Niemann to complete the market study for 2008 wages and to implement the information into the spreadsheets. This information will be presented to the Council in October. Clerk's Office • Nancy Malecha was on vacation the week of August 20 through the 27`h • Sandy Peine was on vacation August 23rd and 24`h. Water/Wastewater Supervisor The Clerk's office has advertised for the position of Water/Wastewater Supervisor. We will be receiving applications through September 7`h. City of Jenkins The City Clerk is assisting the City of Jenkins in the application/interview process for the City Clerk position.
