Once again, I want to make it clear that I am very disappointed with the assessed fee.
To me, little if any consideration was given to the fact that we have all our recreational needs
satisfied on the property.
And little if any consideration was given to the fact that we have gone well beyond the
minimum requirements of a RCS in an effort of preserving natural resources as clearly spelled
out in the Comprehensive Plan.
This fee is very much like a tax on development. And it's clearly been applied inconsistently at
best. The City receives much greater taxes on developed property and I believe it should do all
it can to uphold the language of the Comprehensive plan and encourage good "Development
practices that identify and preserve significant natural resources". I believe Nordenstua on
Sibley has used"Development practices that identify and preserve significant natural
resources .
But in doing so the P&Z has assessed a greater fee to Nordenstua than other developments who
have not embraced the spirit of the Comprehensive Plan. The Plan says to promote and encour-
age such development. I am hoping for some encouragement from the City Council. Please
call if there are questions.
Thank you
Scott Pederson
218-831-1867
