RESOLUTION 07-01 ACCEPTING DONATIONS FOR <br /> DECEMBER, 2006 <br /> COUNCIL MEMBER RYAN SECONDED THE MOTION. MOTION <br /> CARRIED 5-0. <br /> 4. Open Forum <br /> Tom Staley, 282 Norman Point Road NW, Longville, MN was present to <br /> discuss the water rates. He indicated he owns the Meadowwood <br /> Apartments at 30681 Olson Street, Pequot Lakes. He stated that he feels <br /> �.. the City's water rates are very high compared to other cities. He further <br /> stated that the minimum usage should be higher than 2,000 gallons. Mr. <br /> Staley requested the Council to consider lowering the rates. <br /> Mayor Malecha stated that she would like the Clerk to check into doing a <br /> rate study for the water/sewer rates. <br /> COUNCIL MEMBER RYAN MOVED TO AUTHORIZE THE CLERK TO <br /> GET BIDS TO DO A RATE STUDY. COUNCIL MEMBER ORASKOVICH <br /> SECONDED THE MOTION. MOTION CARRIED 5-0. <br /> 5.1. Community Service Award <br /> Mayor Malecha noted that the City gives a community service award once <br /> a year. She indicated that this year's award goes to Mr. Steve Weagel. <br /> Chief Braam presented the community service award to Mr. Weagel <br /> noting his service to the community in the areas of fire arm safety training <br /> and working with the youth in the community, just to name a few. <br /> 6. Planninq and Zoninq Report <br /> Report presented by Dawn Bittner. <br />
