i STAFF REPORT Item: Environmental Assessment Worksheet for the RV Resort Village — Commencement of Public Comment Period Applicant: Dan Helbling Background: The proposal for the RV Resort Village at the Preserve has been required to prepared an Environmental Assessment Worksheet as the project triggers the thresholds for mandatory review.As the project is located within the municipality of Pequot Lakes,the City of Pequot Lakes is the designated Responsible Governmental Unit(RGU)for review of the EAW. By statute,the RGU is charged with the preparation of the EAW.As most document preparation involves technical analysis and data collection, this task is often passed onto the project proposer or a third parry, typically a consultant. In this case, the project proposer has worked with his project team to prepare the document, with the City maintaining discretionary review and determination in the completeness of the document. The applicant has submitted the document to Staff for review and comment, to ensure completeness and accuracy of the submitted answers.Staff,with the applicant,has reviewed the document and discussed additional information or analysis that is needed to complete the document. At the time of writing this report, there are a few remaining items that need to be completed. Once the document is deemed complete by the RGU,the City must notify the applicant within 5 working days that the document is complete.
