September 8, 2008 RECEIVED
SEP U 9 2008
Ms. Dawn Bittner Per.............
Zoning Administrator
City of Pequot Lakes
4638 County Road 11
Pequot Lakes, MN. 56427
Dear Ms. Bittner -
Thank you for your recent letter of September 4, 2008 concerning the various city
ordinances that we have not acquired the needed permits. I was under the impression that
if a building such as a small shed can be moved with skids and not on any foundation or
tied to an existing structure it would not be a problem. However, this appears not to be
the case. I or my wife did not set out to violate such ordinances. You will recall I asked
you out to our property to address some other issues concerning our shoreline.
I have tried to answer most of your questions but do not understand the need for a sewer
compliance inspection for a shed that has no running water of fixtures. We also have no
electrical to the shed nor do we ever plan to install such items. Your application also
required proposed driveways, sidewalks and other impervious coverage. We have a
driveway into our cabin and are adding such items to our property.
Please note that in reviewing the land use fees and the schedule of payments I was not for
sure on the fee requirement but believe we would fall under the accessory building under
100 squire feet.
Please note that it is our goal to improve this property and follow the various land permits
and would like to resolve this matter as well.
Sincerely,
Brent Larson
