Cheri Seils, Crow Wing Auto Body, states that she was in a car accident there two years ago and
this will make things worse. Also has concerns about the noise impact on Sibley.
Bob Moberg, has concerns over the FAA approving this. States that this would not be very
conservative on fuel, particularly during a time of war.
Arlynn Herboldt, Bump and Putt, states concerns over traffic.
Lydia Loven, states that she is upset about the traffic and noise at the intersection.
Discussion of polling the audience.
Orville Seils, states that their biggest concern is safety as to whether or not people will be
watching the road or the helicopter.
Woog asks for additional public comment. None. Closes public comment.
Williams asks about the decibels produced by the helicopter.
Applicants state that they do not have a specific number, but the type of helicopter they are
using would be comparable to a snowmobile or a truck on the Paul Bunyan Trail.
Williams refers to noise standards in the ordinance. States that the noise is measured at the
property line.
Discussion on the decibels.
Adams asks if the landing area will be fenced.
Applicants indicate that they will be doing flagging on the days of the events to identify the take
off and landing areas.
Williams asks about the frequency of the flights.
Applicants states that they will take off every two or three minutes, but up to three minutes for
longer flights.
Discussion on the hours of operation and dates.
Adams states that he is disappointed by the Crafter's Mall. States that there have been three
new requests to change the CUP as approved. The first was to remove trees, even though we
required screening. The second was to have outside storage, even though it was specifically
excluded. Now there is a third application for an airport for helicopter rides, which never came
up in the original CUP process. Concurs with the concerns raised about safety issues and quality
of life issues. The Crafter's Mall is not even open and we are getting all of these requests. What
is going to happen once it is open? Mr.Adams is very disappointed with the original CUP
applicant,Mr.Van Valkenburg.
Woog discusses Finding of Fact number nine and questions how this is reconciled. We had
previous concerns about parking and required some restraint in order to test out the parking on
the site.
Discussion on the previous CUP and the conditions.
