� <br />City Council Minutes <br />September 4, 2012 <br />Page 5 of 8 <br />Mike Loven explained that he would be using the balance of the general <br />building capital outlay carryover account of $5,560 to pay for the project. <br />He noted that after depleting the $5,560 there would be a shortfall of <br />$8,026.34 and requested that this be funded from the roads and streets <br />capital outlay budget. <br />COUNCIL MEMBER SJOBLAD MOVED TO ACCEPT THE QUOTE <br />FROM NEUMANN CONSTRUCTION FOR THE ROOFING LABOR AND <br />THE COSTS FOR MATERIALS AND GUTTER INSTALLATION AT A <br />TOTAL PROJECT COST OF $13,585.74 WITH APPROXIMATELY <br />$5,560 TO BE FUNDED FROM THE GENERAL BUILDING CAPITAL <br />OUTLAY CARRYOVER AND THE REMAINING TO BE FUNDED FROM <br />THE ROADS AND STREETS CAPITAL OUTLAY. COUNCIL MEMBER <br />PEDERSON SECONDED THE MOTION. MOTION CARRIED 5-0. <br />10. Enqineer's Report <br />Tim Houle updated the Council on the Government Drive project. He <br />noted that the project will begin on September 17th to avoid interference <br />with the Taste of Pequot event. <br />`- 11. Clerk's Report <br />Report accepted by Council. <br />11.1. Mark Mortenson — Street Vacation <br />The Clerk noted that the DNR has completed a preliminary review of the <br />request by Mark Mortenson to vacate a portion of Lind Street. The DNR <br />has indicated that they have no objections to the vacation. Mr. Mortenson <br />is requesting the Council to move forward with the request by adopting the <br />attached resolution which sets a public hearing date of November 13, <br />2012. <br />MAYOR ADAMS MOVED TO ADOPT RESOLUTION 12-27 ON A <br />STREET VACATION COMMENCED BY A PETITION OF A MAJORITY <br />OF ABUTTING LANDOWNERS. COUNCIL MEMBER AKERSON <br />SECONDED THE MOTION. MOTION CARRIED 5-0. <br />11.2 Renew Postaqe Machine Lease <br />The City Clerk explained that the lease for the existing Hasler postage <br />machine will be expiring this September.
