City Council Minutes <br />August 21, 2012 <br />Page 2 of 5 <br />�- -------------------------- <br />� <br />there is always the chance that it could possibly be unalloted by the State. <br />The Mayor suggested only including half of the projected LGA. <br />Council <br />MAYOR ADAMS MOVED TO HAVE STAFF PREPARE AN <br />ORDINANCE TO REDUCE THE COUNCIL PAY BY $50 PER MONTH. <br />COUNCIL MEMBER SJOBLAD SECONDED THE MOTION. <br />The Mayor noted that the Planning Commission's pay was reduced last <br />year and the staff has received minimal increases including a 0% <br />increase. Council Member Ryan questioned the history of the Council <br />wage increase versus the history of City staff wage increase. Council <br />Member Pederson suggested tabling the motion until the Council reviews <br />the entire budget. Council Member Sjoblad stated that city departments <br />have made sacrifices but the Council has not made sacrifices. <br />MOTION CARRIED 3— 2. COUNCIL MEMBER RYAN AND COUNCIL <br />MEMBER AKERSON OPPOSED. <br />Clerk's budaet — No comments <br />Election Budqet — No comments <br />Sales and Use Tax — No comments <br />Information Technoloqy — <br />This budget shows a net increase is $34,000. Council Member Ryan <br />suggested that costs be allocated to specific departments. <br />Discussion was held regarding the police department sharing computers. <br />The Council questioned whether the City could get a network version of <br />the software rather than individual software for each computer. It was <br />suggested that the number of computers in the police department be <br />evaluated along with the possibility of using the tough books both in the <br />squads and in the office via docking stations. <br />The Clerk noted that part of the IT budget included a document <br />management program with a web portal to allow documents to be placed <br />on the web that would be searchable by the public.
