� <br />SPECIAL MEETING OF THE PEQUOT LAKES CITY COUNCIL <br />TUESDAY, AUGUST 21, 2012 <br />PEQUOT LAKES CITY HALL <br />Members Present: Mayor Adams, Council Members Ryan, Sjoblad, Pederson, <br />and Akerson <br />Staff Present: Sandra Peine, City Clerk; Eric Klang, Chief of Police; Mike <br />Loven, Public Works Supervisor; Tom Nelson, Fire Chief; <br />Dawn Bittner, Zoning Administrator; Nancy Malecha, <br />Finance Administrator/Deputy City Clerk; Dave Anderson, <br />Library Board <br />Call Meetinq to Order <br />Mayor Adams called the meeting of the Pequot Lakes City Council to <br />order at 6:30 p.m. <br />2. Consider Aaenda <br />COUNCIL MEMBER AKERSON MOVED TO APPROVE THE AGENDA. <br />� COUNCIL MEMBER SJOBLAD SECONDED THE MOTION. MOTION <br />CARRIED 5-0. <br />3. Pavment of Bills <br />COUNCIL MEMBER SJOBLAD MOVED TO APPROVE BILLS. <br />COUNCIL MEMBER PEDERSON SECONDED THE MOTION. MOTION <br />CARRIED 5-0. <br />4. Review Preliminarv Budqet <br />The City Clerk noted that the general fund budgets project a preliminary <br />tax levy of $1,650,324 which is a$158,798 (9.62%) increase from 2012. <br />The Clerk also noted that the budgets reflect a 2.5% wage increase for all <br />employees. The Clerk explained that staff is requesting the Council to <br />work toward a preliminary budget number which will be set at the <br />September 4th Council meeting. <br />Revenues <br />Nancy Malecha reviewed the budget revenues for the general fund. She <br />explained that the City received a notice from the State projecting $60,000 <br />in LGA. Nancy noted that although this amount is included in the budget <br />� <br />
