� With this effort, and the one quote we did receive, I believe <br />we have met the requirements. <br />I had previously estimated $75,000 for this work. Thus, <br />Tri-City Paving's quote of $73,509.25 appeared reasonable. <br />The math in Tri-City Paving's quote checked out. <br />I reviewed Tri-City Paving's unit prices in their quote. <br />There were some curb and gutter line items that were not in <br />the original base contract, and those prices appeared <br />reasonable for the work involved. <br />There were several similar line items between this added <br />work and the original base contract. Tri-City Paving had a <br />few lower unit prices on the added work versus their unit <br />� prices on their original base contract bid, a few the same, <br />and the rest were higher — but still reasonable for the <br />"tighter" work involved. <br />With this work being added to, instead of part of, the <br />original base contract, time does need to be spent by the <br />City (or us) in the field keeping track of quantities and <br />where the work was done because of the different unit <br />prices for several line items. <br />In my request for a quote, I had asked that if any more time <br />was needed for the added work, that it be indicated in the <br />quote. Tri-City Paving's quote did not have any mention of <br />this. I called Dan Surma of Tri-City Paving this morning <br />and asked him. He requested another week and a half for <br />�... this added work. I confirmed with him that he was <br />
