Beverly Miller stated she is opposed to the increase from 46 to 61 units. It is against the <br /> �-- Comp Plan; the area should be natural, scenic and beautiful. Becky Hurst agrees with <br /> that also. <br /> Paul Reichenbach, resident of Middle Cullen Lake, read a prepared letter which is made <br /> part of this record. <br /> Ann Beaver, President of the Cullen Lakes Association,read a prepared letter which is <br /> made part of this record. <br /> John Utter, 6965 Polaris Lane—This was a Mom and Pop Resort; the City wanted it <br /> because it was the only resort in Pequot Lakes. It is getting too commercialized. They <br /> are supposed to be renting these places out; who rents them out? If they are renting them, <br /> there will be more boats on the lake. The Lake is going down hill from over use and will <br /> continue to get worse. Who monitors the rental agreement? Mr. Marohn stated there is <br /> no reporting mechanism to the City. Mr. Steffens stated all the units are being rented,the <br /> new townhomes and the existing cabins. Mr. Hallan stated we don't police it,but if it is <br /> going to become an issue,then what do we have to enforce it? <br /> Public Comment closed. <br /> Mr. Hallan stated the 40 mooring slips were dealt with previously and there is no request <br /> to change the number of mooring slips. <br /> Paul Reichenbach asked when the DNR docking plan will be implemented. Mr. Steffens <br /> stated that as they add more slips for the docking plan,the old docks will be removed. <br /> There have never been 40 slips on the property. <br /> Mr. Marohn stated that no one in earlier discussion planned it would take so long to <br /> implement the resort plans. <br /> Chairman Woog asked Mr.Miller what is different in the two plats,the one approved in <br /> 2008 and this proposed plat. Mr. Miller stated that there is 30 more lineal feet of building <br /> along the shoreline. It is the same general configuration, same stormwater retention, <br /> same configuration of lots,and the same flow of traffic. There have been no dramatic <br /> changes other than' smaller units. <br /> Chairman Woog asked if the new units have garages. He doesn't see any garages on the <br /> original one. <br /> Mr. Hallan pointed out that Units 12—22 there was no change,Units 23 and 24 are <br /> combined into smaller units, 25 —34 are now duplexes where 6 of the larger ones were. <br /> When asked, Mr. Miller stated the square footages of the new units are 1,066, 1,288 and <br /> 1,376; many on the original plat are built at 1,680 sq. ft.
