COMMUNITY Gly of <br /> CWHONVIM Pequat <br /> INSTITUTE <br /> STAFF REPORT <br /> Application: Conditional Use for Animal Shelter, Office Space and Assembly/Packing <br /> Facility <br /> Applicant: Donald Babinksi <br /> Agenda Item:3(a) <br /> Background Information: The applicant is proposing multiple uses for the former <br /> Crafter Outlet Mall located at the northeast corner of the intersection of Highway 371 <br /> and County Road 107. Currently,the approximately 12.73 acres includes two 1,275 sq. ft. <br /> buildings and an approximately 4,170 sq. ft. accessory structure. The subject property is <br /> in the Commercial Zoning District. The proposal includes converting the existing <br /> northern building into an animal shelter.The southern building would house office space <br /> and an assembly/packaging area. <br /> The proposed animal shelter would be a "no kill' shelter and would have a veterinarian <br /> on duty. A"no kill' shelter is one in which animals are only euthanized if they are too <br /> sick to be treated or too aggressive to be adopted. There would only be dogs and cats <br /> housed at the shelter and they would be there overnight. At this time, it is unknown how <br /> many animals will be at shelter at any given time.
