CULLEN LAKES ASSOCIATION
P.O. Box 466,Nisswa,MN 56468
January 21, 2011
Dawn Bittner
Pequot Lakes P&Z
4638 County Road 11
Pequuot Lakes, MN 56472
To county and local units of government and state agencies:
This update of the Cullen Lakes Association's lake management plan is based on the
concerns and perceived problems of property owners on the three Cullen Lakes, as
determined by a 2010 survey. It also addresses environmental and development issues
identified and discussed by the Cullen Lakes Association (CLA) Board of Directors in
recent years. The original plan was written in 2000 by a board subcommittee under the
guidance of Ed Feiler, DNR Section of Fisheries, Comprehensive Lake Planning
Consultant. It was updated the first time in 2005. This 2010 updated plan was adopted
by the CLA Board of Directors on July 10, 2010; it received the unanimous support of the
CLA membership at its August 14, 2010 annual meeting.
In presenting this updated document to you, it is our hope that the city councils, township
boards of supervisors, county and local planning and zoning administrators, and county and
state agencies will work with the Cullen Lakes Association to implement many of the
aspects of this lake management plan. It continues to be an industrious undertaking and we
realize we will not be able to accomplish its goals without your cooperation and support. If
we all work together, this plan will help us preserve its primary beneficiaries--the lakes and
the flora and fauna they nurture.
Sincerely,
Ann Beaver
President
Cullen Lakes Association
