applicants for positions with the City when requested by the Pequot Lakes Police <br /> Department otherwise the Pequot Lakes Police Department shall conduct all criminal <br /> history background investigations. <br /> This applies only to applicants who are finalists for paid or volunteer positions with the <br /> City, where the Department Head or City Council has determined that conviction of a <br /> crime may relate directly to the position sought. <br /> The Police Department may not perform a background investigation unless the applicant <br /> consents in writing to the investigation and to the release of information to the City Staff <br /> as appropriate. An applicant's failure to provide consent may disqualify the applicant for <br /> the position sought. <br /> In administering this section,the City of Pequot Lakes will comply with Minnesota <br /> Statutes, Chapter 364, as may be applicable. <br /> Effective Date.
