Offsite removable advertising will not be permitted, except garage sale, construction, City or Chamber of Commerce sponsored events as approved by E the Zoning Administrator,or real estate signs. io. Commercial non-conforming offsite signs shall not be replaced. Residential offsite signs shall be removed upon the placement of a directional assistance sign at the same intersection. ii. New onsite sign will take precedence over offsite signs and will require the removal of the offsite sign as provided in io above. 12. All offsite commercial signs shall have a permit renewable every three years and indicating the consent of the property owner. a K. Sign Area Measurement. 5 1. The area of a sign shall be measured as the square feet enclosed by the exterior perimeter of a sign not including the structural supports. For cut-out letter signs, this amount shall be divided in half(1/2) when calculating sign area. 2. Only the largest side of a double faced sign or a v-shaped sign with no greater than a 3o degree angle between faces shall be considered. If the angle between faces is greater than 3o degrees, the area of both faces shall be considered. j & I L. Temporary Signs. i. Size and Location. Temporary signs shall be allowed with a permit issued by the Zoning Administrator in the CBD and HB zoning districts. Such signs shall be limited to six(6)feet in height and forty(40)square feet in sign area per face. Temporary signs shall be placed no closer than io feet from any property line and may be illuminated. No flashing or spinning lights shall be allowed. 2. Temporary signs, other than streamers or banners, shall require a permit issued by the Zoning Administrator. 3. Any allowed or permitted temporary sign shall not be allowed to utilize a required parking space 4. Duration. Temporary signs shall be displayed no more than a total of 6o days during any calendar year. 5. Banners, flags and pennants shall be allowed without the need for a permit. All such banners, flags and pennants shall be maintained in good condition and shall not create a hazard or nuisance for the general public. M. Shielding of Illumination(Except Neon Lighting)
