.
CSAH 11 CORRIOR STUDY REPORT
EXECUTIVE SUMMARY
STUDY AREA
Planning for the future of CSAH 11 has become a priority for Crow Wing County and its local partners
including the City of Pequot Lakes, City of Breezy Point, Ideal Township, Jenkins Township, and
Independent School District #186. This project would entail a mill and fill of the existing driving lanes with minor
improvements of guard rail, drainage, and pedestrian ramps. The CSAH 11 shoulders are fairly new.
Some drainage improvements may also be completed at the intersection of CSAH 4 and CSAH 11. The
sidewalks along CSAH 11 in Pequot Lakes will be improved to meet ADA standards. Design and
coordination with affected parties is underway so a spring/summer of 2012 letting date can be
accomplished.
This study identified some short term improvements to the corridor that can be implemented into the
CSAH 11 reconditioning project in the summer of 2012. These short term improvements being
constructed provide the best value and target the existing and future intersections where need is the
greatest. These short term improvements to be included into the 2012 project include turn lanes at the
Eagle View Elementary School and Ranchette Drive. A right-turn and left-turn bypass lane will be
provided at a new Breezy Point Ice Arena entrance and Whitebirch Drive. An eastbound left-turn bypass
lane may also be constructed at Wildwood Lane if funding allows.
Prepared by: Bolton & Menk, Inc.
CSAH 11 Corridor Study
Executive Summary
Page 1
