Council Agenda Item #9.3 — Roadway Turnbacks
Page 4 of 4
The Committee decided to seek the Council's input on this
at the September City Council meeting.
The Committee also asked about whether the City has to
accept a turn back from the County. Tim thought there
were Statutes that said the City did not have to accept it,
but he would check with the State Aid Engineer. Tim did
so, and he was correct; the City can decline.
It was discussed that P&Z would continue to look at
roadway sections. Whether or not the City accepted this
segment, this work would be helpful to pass along to the
County Highway Engineer and to possibly use as a basis
for sections on other turn back segments.
2. Does the City Council want to accept the present Hwy
371 from the County / MnDOT?
3. Before answering No. 1 or No. 2, does the City
Council need more information, and if so, what
information?
If the Council wants to continue proceeding forward with
discussions with the County (not asking for a final decision
at this meeting), and with recent P&Z input on roadway
segments, the committee and Tim Houle can come up with
estimated construction and `maintenance' costs.
