i
City Of
Pequot
s= -s
August 16, 2013
Wilderness Resort Villas, LLC
6600 France Avenue South, Suite 465
Edina, MN 55435
Re: Walking Path
Dear Mr. Steffens:
Thank you for taking the time to meet with the City Planner and me yesterday
afternoon. As we discussed no motorized vehicles are allowed on the walking
path on the east side of the point. This also includes no golf cart traffic.
Signage and a barrier of rocks or use of posts and/or gates needs to be installed at
each end of the walking path to deter continued vehicular use of this area.
Condition #12 of your Conditional Use Permit states "The road in the bluff and
shoreline setback shall be removed and re-vegetated. An 8-foot wide walking
trail may replace the road; however, all automobile traffic shall be banned. The
walking trail shall be constructed with pervious materials." We observed a well
traveled roadway to the end of the point and destruction of the re-vegetated
beach. The walking path needs to be no more than 8-feet wide and constructed
with pervious materials, such as mulch.
Please notify me when the Signage and barrier has been installed, as well as the
pervious materials, so I may verify same. If you wish to request golf cart traffic be
allowed, you must amend your Conditional Use Permit.
Sincerely,
Dawn Bittner
Zoning Administrator
C: Planning Commission
Wilderness Resort, Nisswa Address
4638 COL"NT1 RoAD 11 * PEQUOT L ua s,MIN 56472® (218) 568-5222*FAx: (218) 568-5860 www.pequodakes-mn.gov
